Awake since 05:45. Despite the clocks going back the previous night, and getting a good nights sleep, I was weirdly tired yesterday. I had one nap, and nearly had another. And then I went to bed early at 21:30, which was unexpected. Though I did do a lot of tidying too, so maybe that tired me out. One thing I will say: my body feels a lot better this morning than usual. And I’m pretty sure it’s due to me having no sugar yesterday (aside from an almond croissant at breakfast that I spread from Nutella over). So that’s one day sugar free, I must keep it up.

From Derek Thompson1 It’s just an opening paragraph to a post with a link to his podcast, so you might not want to follow the link – there’s nothing more to read.:

As the media theorist Marshall McLuhan once said, every technology is both an “extension” and an “amputation.” A machine that extends human intelligence is also a machine that cuts off the need for humans to be intelligent. When in possession of a tool that can reduce struggle and friction, we have to ask ourselves: What is the value of friction? When is the struggle a problem, and when is the struggle the point?
