Slow social media
My Instagram is actually a positive place. It shows me great stuff that’s right up my street.#
However, because of the limitlessness of “the feed” and my dopamine chasing brain I barely register photos/videos. My brain just says “that’s good, but you’ve looked at it for 200 ms, time to try the next thing”.#
So I’d love a social network which slows you down – forces you to look at a photo for something like 5 seconds or so.1 Which is still a short time.#
